I recently picked up Smashbox's Halo Long Wear Blush in the shade Blissful* ($29 CAD/2g), and I thought that I'd share my thoughts on it with you today. I've had my eyes on these Halo Blushes for quite some time, the packaging just looks so interesting! I've been obsessed with berry hued blushes recently, so that's why I went with the shade Blissful.
"Inspired by the bestselling Halo powder, this blush gives a luminous, lit-from-within flush that lasts. As an added bonus, the innovative built-in grinder gives you total control to get the perfect amount of freshly ground, beautiful color every time—and with no mess. For the ideal amount of product, try twisting the grinder clockwise from noon to 1 o’clock." - Sephora
Smashbox's Halo Long Wear Blushes come in really unique packaging - you twist the container to shave off some product! I don't have anything else like this in my collection, so it was fun to try out. You're left with a loose powder, which I then apply with a Sigma blush brush. I've tried applying this over top of a similarly coloured cream blush, and I was not pleased with the results. I highly recommend applying this blush onto your cheeks without any cream blush underneath! When applied that way, I really loved how this blush looked and wore on my skin.
This blush packs great pigmentation, so you only need to use the smallest amount of powder. As the name would suggest, this blush does wear well for the entire day. I don't feel like I have to touch up my blush throughout the day, but then again I don't have oily skin. The shade Blissful is a beautiful berry toned blush with slightly pink undertones. I think that this shade is perfect for the Fall and Winter months, and I don't find to to be too dark or bold on my fair skin. Blissful does as a slight sheen to it, but there isn't any shimmer in the formula.
Have you tried any of Smashbox's Halo Long Wear Blushes? I really love the packaging, and I would love to try out some of the other shades (In Bloom looks gorgeous!). I will mention that this blush only contains 2 grams of product, which is considerably less than other blushes on the market. However, I rarely finish a full blush, and you have to use the tiniest amount of product, so this will still last me ages.
