For starters, I'll describe what exactly the Beauty Elixir is. This product has several uses, including a toner, serum, and a make up setting spray, I've been using this spray as a toner after I've cleansed my face, and before applying my serum and moisturizer. I use three sprays, one on my left, right, and centre of my face.
The Beauty Elixir does have a strong scent, which I know a lot of people aren't very fond of. I actually really enjoy this scent, as I find it calming and therapeutic. However, I would suggest trying this out in a store before buying it, just to make sure you get along with the scent.
The Beauty Elixir is sold in either a 30ml travel size, or the full size 100ml bottle. I actually have both, and my 30ml bottle is almost empty. I apply this every single morning and night after cleansing my face. I do find that it calms my skin, as I sometimes have sensitive skin. The Beauty Elixir also helps my skin feel comfortable, and not tight or dry as it can sometimes feel in the Winter weather. As you might be able to see in the photo above, there are oils that rise to the top of the bottle. I always make sure to shake my bottle before I use it, so that the oils are mixed into the rest of the formula.
I really enjoy using this product, but I don't think that it works miracles. I love the scent, and I find it very enjoyable to use. It does help calm my skin and reduce redness, which I appreciate. I think that this is a nice, luxurious product to have incorporated into your skincare routine, but I don't think that it is essential. If you've been thinking about trying this out, I'd say give it a go! Maybe purchase the smaller 30ml before committing to the full size version. I'm going to continue using both of my bottles of this, and then see whether or not I want to repurchase. I'm really wanting to try Ole Henriksen's African Red Tea Face Mist, but I might use that and Caudalie's Beauty Elixir.
Have you given into the hype surrounding Caudalie's Beauty Elixir? What are your thoughts on it? Leave me a comment below and we can discuss! :)
